It wasn’t long ago that many of us went on a fervent campaign to save our places on Medium. The Medium Writers community came to our rescue and many of us recognized that there can indeed be warmth, kindness and power in an online community of people we have never met. I was one recipient of such a revelation.

I am indeed enjoying the depth, breath and quality of your articles. I am looking forward to another year with my new community. With this in mind I was determined to renew my membership early and set out to make sure everything was in place. I closed out of Medium feeling satisfied that I had done so, only to get an email from Medium.com saying,

“Sorry to see you go…..Your Medium membership has been cancelled. If you would like you can resume your membership at anytime at Medium.com..”

“What?!” I thought. I had NO intention of cancelling my membership, especially after all we have just been through. What happened? Could I have hit a wrong key by mistake?

Well no need to panic I thought. I can just click the link in the email and resume my membership…

Not so.

I have followed the instructions repeatedly, but to no avail. I have been able to access my account and even write…
